Excellent Lawn Disease Control

Lawn Disease Control Services From RDS

Lawn diseases are a serious threat to turf in North and South Carolina, where warm temperatures and high humidity create ideal conditions for fungal outbreaks. Prevention is essential, as many lawn diseases can cause damage that becomes difficult, or sometimes impossible, to reverse. But even if your lawn is already showing symptoms such as brown patches, thinning turf, or irregular discoloration, there is still a path forward.

When disease is present, our team evaluates your lawn to identify the specific fungus affecting it and develops a targeted treatment plan based on your grass type and current conditions. With the right approach, we can stop the spread, support recovery, and help restore your lawn to a healthier, greener state over time.

At RDS Lawn Care Services, we have decades of experience treating the most common Carolina lawn diseases, including Brown Patch, Large Patch, Dollar Spot, and more. Every technician on our team is knowledgeable about fungicides, ensuring your lawn receives safe, effective, and professional disease control whenever you need it.

Client Testimonials

What Your Neighbors Are Saying

RDS has done a great job on our lawn. In just one year we have seen a vast improvement. Knowing that it takes time and a few years of treatment to see the best results, we are very happy with the results so far. Also the pest treatment allows us to be in the yard without the worry of mosquitos and other pests. Highly recommend.

RDS is best in class. I have been using the RDS team for over a decade to treat, aerate and seed my lawn. It takes time, but Aaron's formula for weed control and fertilization has my grass in tip top shape. I would highly recommend RDS to anyone wanting to have the nicest lawn in their neighborhood.

- Jason Barger

These guys are awesome. Our lawn (and many in our community) look great...like a well manicured golf course. We have had a great experience with them and they have almost repaired the damage that was caused by one of their competitors. They are responsive to concerns and take ownership of their products and procedures. They are a local company and know the soil very well.

our Process

Our 4-Step Fungicide Program

Lawns throughout the Charlotte region are highly susceptible to Brown Patch and other fungal diseases, largely due to our warm temperatures, high humidity, and periods of excessive moisture. These conditions create an ideal environment for disease to spread quickly and cause significant damage if not addressed early.

Our 4-step fungicide program is designed to provide consistent, preventive protection during the peak disease season. Beginning in late April or early May, we apply professional-grade fungicides every 28 days throughout the spring and summer. This proactive approach helps stop diseases like Brown Patch before they take hold, preserving both the health and appearance of your lawn.

While prevention delivers the best results, our team at RDS Lawn Care can also create a customized treatment plan if your lawn is already showing signs of disease. With targeted applications and expert care, we work to stop the spread and support your lawn’s recovery.

Factors that contribute to lawn disease

  • Standing Water: Poor drainage and water pooling across your lawn – combined with Charlotte’s naturally high humidity – create ideal conditions for fungal growth. Excess moisture allows disease to spread quickly through turf.
  • Excessive Thatch Buildup: Thatch is a natural layer of organic material at the base of the grass. However, when it becomes too thick, it blocks water, air, and nutrients from reaching the root zone, increasing the risk of lawn disease.
  • Improper Mowing Height: Cutting grass too short weakens the plant and removes essential nutrient reserves. This stress makes lawns more vulnerable to fungal infections and slower to recover.
  • Compacted Soil: Compaction prevents water, oxygen, and nutrients from penetrating the soil—conditions that weaken turf and make it more susceptible to disease. Aeration is often needed to restore proper airflow and drainage.
